At WopeCar, we don’t just move people—we move mindsets. On Friday, our team had the privilege of learning from someone who truly embodies that spirit: Kelechi Ofoegboe, cofounder of the Impact Hub Network.

In a powerful session themed around Radical Ownership, Kelechi shared his personal journey from growing up in a small town in Nigeria to co-building one of the continent’s most respected entrepreneurship ecosystems right here in Ghana. But this wasn’t just a talk about milestones. It was a deep dive into self-leadership, accountability, and finding clarity in the chaos of growth.

“When you wake up, it’s your morning.”
— Igbo Proverb (shared by Kelechi)

So, what does it mean to take radical ownership?

For Kelechi, it starts with accepting that no one is coming to save you. That, beyond family or close friends, the responsibility for your growth—professionally and personally—rests squarely on your shoulders. It's about showing up, even when things are uncertain. It’s about taking responsibility for what needs to be done and doing it well.

He reminded us that ownership is not just about tasks; it’s about outcomes. It’s about being the kind of person (and team) that others can trust to get things done, even when no one’s watching.

Some of the most powerful takeaways from the session included:

  • Going the extra mile is where transformation begins—especially when no one’s asking you to.

  • Mistakes are part of the journey, but true growth comes from owning them quickly and learning deeply.

  • The “extra mile” looks different for everyone. Whether it’s speaking about your work outside the office or taking the initiative on a task without being told, it all counts.

  • Your journey will be littered with uncertainty. But taking full ownership is what gives you direction.

We’re grateful to Kelechi for speaking from a place of honesty, trial, error—and real success. His words reminded us that here at WopeCar, every team member plays a role in steering the ship. It’s not just about clocking in and out; it’s about asking yourself, how can I contribute meaningfully to where we’re going?

As a company grounded in innovation and people-first thinking, sessions like these fuel our growth from the inside out.

Because at WopeCar, we don’t just rent cars; we build a team of drivers. Drivers of ideas. Drivers of impact.
